Event series
Use an event series when several events belong to one programme, festival, season, or campaign.
Available when the Events feature is enabled.
Admin path: Content > Event series
Routes:/supereventsand/superevent/{id}
Use a single event when visitors only need one date, place, and detail page.
Create a series
- Open Content > Event series.
- Select Add event series.
- Enter the Title, which is required, and the Age limit.
- Set the Start date, Start time, End date, and End time.
- Add Category tags, General tags, a Card description, and a Card image.
- Tick Has its own page if the series needs a detail page.
- Select Save.
The title names the whole programme, such as “Autumn workshop weekend”. Its date range should describe that programme. The card text is the short introduction visitors see before opening details. Use individual events for the separate sessions and their exact times.
When you first save the series, JORD creates its URL from the title. The URL then stays the same, so choose the title carefully before the first save.
The list filters by Filter by title and State, and shows each series’ state, title, Categories, Date, and Updated date.
Add contributors
In Contributors, select Add contributor for each person connected to the whole series. Enter their Role, such as organiser, and use the move controls to arrange their order.
Use event-level contributors when the role applies to only one occurrence.
Select an existing team member rather than typing a name into the description as a substitute for the relation. For example, connect the programme organiser to the series and a guest speaker only to the session they attend.
Connect events to the series
- Save the series so it exists as a selectable record.
- Open an existing event under Content > Events, or create one in the same language as the series.
- Select this series in the event’s Event series field.
- Save the event and repeat for the other sessions.
- Check the public series and event listings after the relevant items are published.
Creating the series does not create all its events. Changing the series dates also does not replace checking each event’s own start and end times.
Add content and publish
Has its own page shows the Content area, where you add blocks and choose Show table of contents. The Social media contacts and SEO and sharing areas are always shown.
The footer has Save, Schedule, and Publish or Unpublish. Delete appears after the first save. Event series have no Preview. Scheduling works as for events. Check that child events use the intended series before publication.
“Child events” means the events connected through their event-series field. Check their publication states individually rather than assuming publishing the series publishes them too.
For a series detail page, start with a short introduction and explain what the programme includes. Use the Block editor for the content and Saving, publishing, and SEO for publication steps. If a session is missing, check that event’s selected series, language, and publication state first.
- The series title is final before the first save.
- Each session event is connected to the series.
- The series and its events are published.
