Block editor
A block is one piece of content, such as a paragraph, a picture, or a download button. Put blocks in the order visitors should read them. An article might start with Text, followed by an Image, a Heading, and more Text.
This editor appears in articles and in the content areas of services, references, team profiles, events, and other supported records. On a generic page, add a Content section with the Section editor first, then add blocks inside it.
Add and arrange blocks
- Open the item you want to edit and find its Content area. An empty area shows You have not added content yet.
- Find the Add block toolbar at the bottom of the block list. Its buttons are icons. Point at an icon to read the block type.
- Select a type. Choose Text for an ordinary paragraph.
- Complete the new block’s fields.
- Use its Up or Down arrow if it belongs elsewhere.
- Select Save on the parent form. Adding a block does not save the article or page by itself.
Each existing block also has an Add block toolbar across its top. A block added there appears above that block. The bottom toolbar adds one at the end. Check where a new block appears before entering a long piece of text.
A block’s Delete icon removes it at once, without a confirmation question. Check its contents first. Removing Details also removes its answer text. Removing a gallery removes its items from this content. Do not assume there is an undo action.
Newsletters offer fewer types than articles: no Embed, Gallery, Details, Subscribe, or Page break. In a Content section with Page appearance, image, embed, gallery, and table blocks also have a Size choice of S, M, or L. Size changes the block’s layout, not the uploaded file’s size.
Heading
Use Heading to name part of your content, such as “Opening hours”. Headings help readers scan the page and can provide entries for a table of contents.
- Add a Heading block and enter the heading text.
- Under Level, keep 2 for a main part of the article or page content. New headings start at level 2.
- Choose level 3 for a smaller topic within that part. Levels 4 through 6 are for further subdivisions.
- Add a Text block underneath for the explanation.
For example, “Before your visit” can be level 2, with “Parking” and “Accessibility” as level 3 headings beneath it. The page title is separate. Do not choose levels just to make letters larger or smaller.
Text
Use Text for paragraphs. Click inside the writing area before typing or pasting.
The block’s toolbar offers:
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Bold, Italic | Formats the selected words. |
| Link, Remove link | Adds or removes a link on the selected words. |
| List | Turns the paragraphs into a bulleted list. |
| Highlight, Quote, Note | Gives the whole block a special style. Select the active button again to return to a normal paragraph. |
| Rephrase text | Asks AI to rewrite the block’s text. See Rephrase text with AI. |
Keep one topic in each paragraph. Use a list for steps rather than spacing words into columns. After pasting from another document, check for unwanted formatting, blank lines, or links.
For an inline link, select the words visitors should click and use Link. Use meaningful text such as “View the workshop programme”. Enter the destination and test it after saving.
Use Highlight, Quote, or Note for one short passage, not for whole articles. The style applies to the entire block, so put the passage in its own Text block.
Use a separate Heading block for a section heading. A bold paragraph does not replace the heading structure.
Rephrase text with AI
Rephrase text sends the block’s current text to an AI service. The service improves the wording and corrects grammar and typing errors in the content language.
- Write or paste the text first.
- Select Rephrase text. The admin shows Processing text while it works.
- Read the proposal in Modified text.
- Select Apply to replace the block’s text, or Cancel to keep your original.
- Check names, figures, dates, and tone, then save the parent form.
It works for Hungarian, English, and German content. Each website can send a limited number of rephrase requests per day. If the limit is reached or the service fails, the admin shows an error notification and your text stays unchanged.
Do not rephrase text that contains private customer information or confidential plans. Applied text replaces the original in the form; there is no separate undo.
Image
Use Image for one picture within the reading flow. An article’s card image is separate. Selecting a card image does not add a picture to the article body.
- Select or upload the picture through the image field. See Media library.
- Choose its ratio and size where available.
- Complete the description and source fields as appropriate.
- Add a source URL only if the picture’s credit should link to its source.
- Save and check the crop on the website.
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Image ratio | The picture’s display shape, such as 1:1 or 16:9, or Default. Changing it may crop the original. |
| Description | A caption shown with the picture. Write it so it also helps someone who cannot see the picture, such as “Step-free entrance beside the main doors”. |
| Source | The credit or rights information you need to display. |
| Source URL | A link for the credit, such as the photographer’s or archive’s page. It is not a click-through link for the picture. |
Do not put essential instructions only inside a picture. Write them as text too.
Embed
Use Embed for external content, such as a video, when your website supports that provider. Paste the provider’s embed code or the content’s address into the Embed code field, as the preview area’s hint asks.
Use a trusted source. Do not paste scripts from an unknown person.
Ask the website administrator for help if the provider gives you code and you are unsure which part to use.
Check the preview beside the field:
- A preview of the content means the embed was recognised.
- The embed code was recognised, but no preview is available. means it was recognised but has no preview in the admin. Check it on the website after saving.
- The embed code could not be recognised. means the code was not recognised. Do not publish it as if it worked. Confirm the provider’s supported format with the administrator or use a normal link instead.
Save and check that the content loads, plays or responds as intended, and fits on a phone. Test it with the site’s approved privacy settings. If embedding is unsupported, use a Button or text link to the provider’s page instead.
Details
Use Details for information visitors can expand, such as a question and answer. The Description field holds the visible summary. The Content writing area holds what appears when someone opens it.
- Enter a clear summary, such as “Can I bring a bicycle?”.
- Click in its Content writing area and write the answer.
- Format the answer with the controls in that writing area’s toolbar.
- Save, then open and close the item on the public page.
Keep essential information visible without a click. A booking deadline should not be hidden in an answer most visitors will skip.
Attachment
Use Attachment for a downloadable file, such as a programme or information sheet.
Select the uploaded file and enter a Title that tells visitors what they will get. Until you enter one, the field shows the file name as a suggestion. Add a description if needed. “Download the workshop programme” is more useful than “Document”.
Save, click the public download link, and open the file. Check its version and remove private notes before uploading. When replacing a file, check other pages that might still link to the old one before deleting it from the Media library.
Button
Use Button for a link you want readers to notice, such as “Book a place”. It creates a link, not a booking form, and does not submit a form by itself.
Enter the caption visitors should see, then choose an internal destination or enter the complete external address. Under Appearance, choose Filled or Outlined. New buttons start as Filled. Reserve the stronger style for the main action.
Save and test both where the button goes and whether visitors can complete the promised action there.
Gallery
Use Gallery for pictures that belong together. Use separate Image blocks when you want paragraphs between pictures.
- Choose the Cover image and add a description if needed.
- Select Add media for each picture. The cover alone does not populate the image list.
- Select a picture for each item and complete its title, description, alternative text, source, and source URL as needed.
- Move the items into the intended sequence.
- Save and inspect the public gallery, including its image-opening controls.
Check descriptions, alternative text, and credits for each picture rather than describing only the gallery as a whole.
The item Type can also be Embed rather than Image. That choice shows an embed field and description. Check the embed preview before saving, and follow the Embed guidance for external media. An embedded item does not use the same image fields as an image item.
Reference
Use Reference to show selected content within your text, such as related articles or services. Here, reference means a link to an existing record. It does not mean you must choose a business reference or enter an academic citation.
- Choose the Content type: articles, products, references, services, team members, events, or event series.
- Select the add button below it, such as Add article, and choose an existing item from the list that opens.
- Arrange the items in the desired order.
- Save and test their public links.
Changing the content type clears the selected records. Choose it first. If an item is missing on the website, check its publication state, language, and intended detail page or destination.
To change a selected article’s title or image, edit that article itself. This block does not create independent copies.
Table
Use Table for information that belongs in rows and columns, such as opening times for several locations. Do not use it to position unrelated paragraphs side by side.
- Select Add column and Add row until the table has the shape you need. Every row has the same number of cells.
- Enter short column labels in the first row, such as “Day”, “Opens”, and “Closes”.
- Tick First row as header if the first row contains those labels.
- Tick First column as header if the first column contains row labels.
- Fill every cell that should have a value. Use the arrows beside a column or row to move it, and its Delete icon to remove it.
- Save and check it on a phone. Reduce columns or split a wide table if it is hard to read.
For example, put “Monday” under Day and its times under Opens and Closes. A value typed into the wrong cell appears under the wrong heading.
Subscribe
Use Subscribe for a newsletter invitation within an article or other content. Enter a description explaining what visitors will receive.
It needs a working newsletter setup and does not connect a mailing service itself. Ask the administrator to confirm Features and, if used, the Mailchimp plugin.
After saving, submit a test subscription and confirm it appears in the expected list.
Page break
Available in articles when Multipage is enabled.
Page break divides an article into separate public pages. It does not add a blank line or start a new printed sheet.
Insert it between complete parts. Avoid placing one at the beginning or end, where it could leave a page without useful content. Save and check that visitors can move through every part.
For a new topic on the same page, use Heading instead.
Before you leave
- The parent article, page, or other record saved with a confirmation.
- Its publication state is correct. A save does not make a draft public, and on a public article it stores a draft.
- The content reads well from top to bottom, with no empty blocks.
- Every link and download opens.
- Images, tables, and embeds work at a phone-sized width.
If the public page is unchanged, confirm the item and language, then check whether publication is needed. Do not add duplicate blocks to solve a saving or visibility problem.
