Usage guide

Use Banners to publish the website’s ads.txt file. Advertising networks read this file to check which sellers may sell ads on the site.

The card does not place banners or ad images on the website. Its Coming soon! notice refers to banner placement, which the JORD team currently builds in for each site. Ask the JORD team if the site needs banners.

What you need

The complete, approved ads.txt text from the advertising administrator. Each line usually names an advertising system, a seller account ID, and a relationship.

Set it up

1. Open Website > Settings and scroll to Plugins.
2. Find the Banners card in the Advertising group.
3. Switch on the card’s Turn on switch. The card’s fields appear.
4. Paste the text into ads.txt content, keeping its line breaks and punctuation unchanged.
5. Select Save at the bottom of the screen.

Check that it works

Open the public website’s /ads.txt address, for example https://example.com/ads.txt, and compare it with the approved text. JORD serves the field’s content there as plain text.

Likely mistakes

• With the card turned off, /ads.txt returns a “not found” error, even if the field still holds text.
• Do not remove existing partner records just because you are adding another partner. Add the new lines to the existing text.
• This field is not a place for ad images or tracking scripts.
