Interface
Use the dashboard and sidebar to move through the JORD admin.
Dashboard
The Dashboard opens at the admin’s start address. To return to it, select Dashboard at the top of the sidebar.
The dashboard has two parts:
- Functions holds two boxes of shortcuts.
- Quick links: Add page, Add article, Add event, Add user, and Add product. Add event appears only when the Events feature is enabled, and Add product only on websites with a webshop.
- Website: Settings, which opens Website > Settings, and Support, which opens the Support screen.
- Operations data shows the Network traffic chart, the website’s outgoing data traffic per day over the last 14 days.
Sidebar
The top of the sidebar shows your website’s name. Below it, Dashboard is followed by these groups:
| Group | What it contains |
|---|---|
| Content | Media library, pages, articles, categories, team members, contact details, and content tools added by features, such as events, authors, or forms. |
| Website | Users, appearance, settings, imprint, and feature-dependent screens such as subscribers or newsletters. |
| Commerce | Products and orders. It only appears on websites with a webshop. See Commerce. |
| Other | Support. |
- Select a menu item to open its list or form. The item for the current screen is highlighted.
- Use the arrow at the top to collapse or expand the sidebar: Collapse sidebar or Expand sidebar. The admin remembers your choice in this browser.
Menu entries depend on the site’s features and your roles. For example, Newsletters also requires a role that can manage newsletters. A missing item does not always indicate an error.
Content language
The language switcher is in the bottom row of the sidebar. It lists a code for each enabled website language, such as hu or en. Select a code to open the dashboard in that language.
When the sidebar is collapsed, the switcher shows only the current language. Expand the sidebar to choose another.
Save before you switch language. Then open the item again from the sidebar.
The admin content language and the JORD wiki language are separate controls. Changing one does not change the other.
User menu and colour scheme
Your avatar, showing your initials, is at the bottom of the sidebar. Your name and email address appear beside it while the sidebar is expanded. Select the avatar to open the user menu.
The user menu contains:
- Colour scheme with Light, Dark, and System. It changes only how the admin looks in this browser, not the public website. The admin starts in Dark.
- User settings, which opens your own user record.
- Log out.
To change the public website’s look, use Appearance instead.
Support
Admin path: Other > Support
Route:/support
The Support screen links to this guide. In the Guide box, select Open guide to open this wiki in a new tab.
If you need more help, contact JORD support at support.jord.website .
Feedback from the admin
| Feedback | What it means |
|---|---|
| Loading state | The admin is fetching or saving data. Wait for it to finish before repeating the action. |
| Confirmation dialog | You are asked to approve an action with consequences, such as deletion. |
| Snackbar | A short message reporting a completed action or an error, such as a successful save. |
| State marker | A small marker on lists and edit forms. A tick means public, a clock means scheduled, and an empty marker means draft. |
| Autosave status | On articles, when autosave is enabled, a note beside the save actions shows whether automatic saving is active, in progress, or failed. |
If a save fails, keep the form open and copy any long text before retrying. Record the error message if you need support.
