Imprint

Use this screen for the organisation and provider details required on the public imprint page.

An imprint identifies the organisation responsible for the website. This screen is not for an About story, promotional text, or ordinary contact-form settings. Collect the approved organisation details before editing it.

Admin path: Website > Imprint
Route: /imprint

❗
Important

This wiki does not provide legal advice. Ask a qualified professional to review the published imprint. Every translation also needs review by a qualified native speaker.

The screen holds one imprint per language. Save before switching the admin language to edit another version.

Provider details

  1. In Basic details, enter the public Title.
  2. In Imprint details, enter the Provider name, Tax number, Provider address, and Provider email.
  3. Complete the Registering authority, Official permit, and Chamber fields that apply to the organisation.

Do not copy another site’s legal details. Use current records from the organisation.

The public title names the page. The provider name is the official company name or the sole trader’s name. The provider address is the registered office or place of business, or a home address if neither exists. An address or email entered here belongs to the imprint; changing it does not necessarily update the shared Contact information.

Registering authority names the body that registered the provider, such as the court of registration. Enter the company registration number itself as a custom field.

Copy identifiers such as the tax number from the approved records, then compare them character by character. If you do not know whether a permit, registry, or chamber field applies, ask the responsible person rather than inventing a value or copying an example.

Custom fields

Add custom imprint fields for required information that has no dedicated field, such as a company registration number.

  1. In Custom details, select Add custom detail.
  2. Enter the Label visitors should see, such as “Company registration number”.
  3. Enter the Value.
  4. Use the arrows to arrange the entries, and the delete control to remove empty duplicates.

The label tells visitors what the value means. Use the wording approved for that information. Add one entry for each distinct item. Custom fields do not decide which information the organisation must publish.

Staff

The Editorial staff, contributors, management box lists people on the imprint.

  1. Enter the Section title visitors should see above the list.
  2. Select Add contributor and choose an existing team member.
  3. Enter their Role, such as “Editor-in-chief”.
  4. Repeat for each person and use the arrows to arrange them.

Create or correct the team record first if the person is missing or their display name is wrong. Selecting someone here adds them to this staff list. It does not create a login or grant access to the admin.

The Hosting provider box explains that the public imprint adds the hosting provider’s details automatically. Check that section on the website instead of entering a duplicate provider.

SEO and review

In SEO and sharing, complete the SEO title and SEO description for search results. The Share title, Share description, and Share image control how the page looks when shared on social media. The field hints give the recommended lengths and the 1200×630 pixel image size.

Before saving, compare every identifier with an official record. Select Save. The imprint has no publish step; saved changes go to the public page. Then check the public page and arrange legal approval.

  1. Save the imprint form and wait for the confirmation message.
  2. Open the website’s imprint page using its public footer link.
  3. Compare the visible organisation details, custom fields, staff, and hosting information with the approved version.
  4. If the footer link is missing or has the wrong caption, check Appearance > Legal links.
  5. Check the relevant language versions with the people responsible for them.

Editing a footer caption does not change the imprint content. Hiding the link also does not make the public page private. If an organisation address changes, check both this page and the separate Contact screen for updates.

Ask the website administrator where other approved legal documents, such as the privacy policy, are maintained.
