Authors
Use authors to credit the people who write your articles.
An author record names a writer and connects them to their articles. It does not give that person an admin account; use Users for that. It is also separate from a team member, which is used for events, staff lists, and profiles.

Find an author
The list shows each author’s state, Name, and Updated date. Select a name to edit the author, or select Add author.
The list shows the authors of the admin’s current language. Create the author again in each language whose articles need the credit.
Create an author
- Select Add author.
- Choose the author’s picture in the image field on the left.
- Enter the Family name and Given name. Add a Middle name if needed.
- Optionally enter a Display name.
- Add one or more Author tags. See Connect the author to articles.
- Select Save, then Publish.
If you fill in Display name, its hint explains that this exact value is shown on the public website. Use it when the credit should differ from the name parts, such as a pen name.
Only users with the Admin or Super admin role can create or change authors. See Users.
Connect the author to articles
Authors and articles are linked through author tags.
- On the author record, add an Author tag with the name you will use on articles, such as “Anna Smith”. Save the author.
- Open the article and enter the same text in its Author tags field. Type at least three characters to see matching existing tags, or press Enter to add the text as a new tag.
- Save or publish the article.
JORD links an article to every author whose Author tags contain one of the article’s author tags. The link powers the Author filter on the Articles list and author filters on the website. The text must match exactly, so pick one spelling and reuse it.
Publish, unpublish, or delete
The footer has Delete, Save, and Publish or Unpublish. Authors have no URL, content, or SEO fields. You can also delete an author from the list after confirming the deletion.
The Author filter on the Articles list only offers published authors. Unpublish an author to remove them from that filter while keeping the record.
Deleting an author keeps the author tags on their articles. Check the articles that credit the person before deleting the record.
- The author is published in each language that needs it.
- The author’s tags match the tags used on their articles.
- The Author filter on the Articles list finds their articles.
