E-commerce settings
The E-commerce section sets the default VAT rate and the delivery and payment options customers choose when they place an order.
Available on websites with a webshop. Without it, the section does not appear.
Admin path: Website > Settings, section E-commerce
Route:/instance
The section sits below Features and above Plugins. The single Save button at the bottom of the screen saves the features, e-commerce settings, and plugins together.
Net and gross prices
The admin works with net prices, without VAT. Once you enter an amount, price and cost fields show the matching Gross price, with VAT, in forints. For example, a net cost of 1,000 at a 27% rate shows a gross price of 1,270 forints.
Tax
In the Tax box, enter the VAT rate as a percentage number, such as 27. Do not type the % sign.
This rate applies to:
- every product variation that has no VAT rate of its own
- every delivery and payment cost
Changing the rate changes the gross price of every product that uses it, including products already on sale. Check a few product pages and the checkout after saving.
Delivery options
Delivery options are the ways a customer can receive an order. Add at least one before the shop goes live.
- In the Shipping box, select Add delivery option.
- Choose the Type.
- Enter the Display name customers see, such as “Pickup at our Budapest shop”.
- Enter the Cost as a net amount. Leave it empty or enter
0for free delivery. - Use the up and down arrows to change the order of the options. Use the bin icon to remove one.
- Select Save at the bottom of the screen.
| Type | Use it for |
|---|---|
| GLS home delivery | Parcels delivered by GLS to the customer’s address. |
| FOXPOST parcel locker | Parcels sent to a FOXPOST locker. |
| In-person pickup | Orders the customer collects from you. |
| Digital delivery (no shipping) | Products handed over electronically, with nothing to ship. |
Each option has one fixed cost.
The type affects how you handle the order later. In-person pickup orders can be marked as completed in the admin. See Orders.
Payment options
Payment options are the ways a customer can pay. Add at least one before the shop goes live.
- In the Payment box, select Add payment option. A new option starts as SimplePay.
- Choose the Type.
- Enter the Display name customers see, such as “Bank card”.
- Fill in the provider fields for that type. See the table below.
- Enter the Cost as a net amount if you charge extra for this payment type. Leave it empty or enter
0for no charge. - Use the arrows to change the order of the options, or the bin icon to remove one.
- Select Save at the bottom of the screen.
| Type | Provider fields |
|---|---|
| SimplePay (bank card, SimplePay account) | SimplePay merchant ID and SimplePay secret key. |
| Barion (bank card) | Barion POS key, Barion account (email address), and Barion Pixel ID. |
| PayPal (PayPal account, bank card) | PayPal client ID and PayPal secret. |
| Stripe (bank card, Google Pay) | Stripe API key and Stripe endpoint signing secret. The second field’s hint gives the endpoint address to register in your Stripe account. |
| Google Pay, Apple Pay | None. |
| Cash | None. The customer is not sent to an online payment page. |
| Test payment | None. See the caution below. |
Copy each value from your account with the payment provider. Place a test order with each payment type before the shop goes live.
Payment keys and secrets give access to your payment account. Do not include them in screenshots, emails, or support messages.
Test payment lets the customer accept or reject a simulated payment. An accepted test payment counts as paid, but no money is taken. Use it only while testing, and remove it before the shop goes live.
Check your work
- The VAT rate is the one your accountant confirmed.
- Every delivery and payment option has a clear Display name and the intended cost.
- Test payment is not offered on the live shop.
- A test order with each payment type completes as expected.
