Usage guide

Use Hotjar for the organisation’s approved visitor-behaviour analysis setup.

What you need

  • The Hotjar site ID for this website.
  • The snippet version from the same Hotjar tracking code. In Hotjar’s code, it is the hjsv value next to the hjid site ID.
  • Approval from the person responsible for the site’s privacy setup.

Set it up

  1. Open Website > Settings and scroll to Plugins.
  2. Find the Hotjar card in the Analytics group.
  3. Switch on the card’s Turn on switch. The card’s fields appear.
  4. Enter the site ID in Code/ID.
  5. Enter the version in Snippet version.
  6. Select Save at the bottom of the screen.

Check that it works

Visit the public site, then ask the person maintaining the Hotjar installation to confirm in Hotjar that data is arriving.

Likely mistakes

  • Do not paste the entire tracking script into either field. Enter only the two values.
  • Do not guess the snippet version. Copy it from the tracking code.
  • With Code/ID empty, JORD loads nothing, even with the card turned on.
